Who We Are
We are an outreach program looking to provide mouth guards to athletes across New York City. We believe that mouthguards are an essential part of safety in athletics. Without them, athletes are at great risk for jaw, mouth, or other dental injuries. Despite the safety risks, however, mouthguards are still left as optional—not a requirement— for many teams.
Our organization was established in 2016 by Business Manager, Ana Shirley, who recognized the lack of emphasis put on mouth and jaw protection in high school sports. Since that time, our team has been working to raise money in order to provide young athletes with better jaw, teeth, and mouth protection.
Our organization believes that there are far too many young athletes who should be wearing a custom fitted mouthguard but either choose not to or aren’t provided with one. Whether they’re practicing or competing in a game, athletes are continually at risk for high impact collisions or falls. That is why custom fitted mouthguards should be a mandatory safety measure for all different kinds of sports.
Our goal is to educate parents, coaches, and athletes on the importance of protecting their mouth in sports, and inspire them to take that extra step for better protection.
Our Mission
To begin educating athletes on the importance of mouthguards, we’re donating 100 mouthguards to athletes across New York City.
Our Vision
We plan to sponsor as many sports teams as possible. Our hope is that the importance of wearing custom mouthguards will spread throughout the world. When other coaches and parents notice the use of custom mouthguards, they’ll be inspired to provide the same safety to their own athletes. This is how the mouthguard movement begins.

Why You Should Wear an Athletic Mouth Guard

Mouthguard Tips
The bottom line is this: the best way to protect your mouth during athletic performance is with a custom fit mouth guard. If it is shaped for the individual’s mouth, the force will be more evenly distributed and the chance of injury is greatly decreased.
Mouthguard Replacement
Ideally, mouthguards should be replaced after each season due to the fact that they can get worn down and become less effective for safety. Mouthguard replacement is especially important for young athletes because they are still growing and their teeth, mouths, and jaws are always changing.
