We plan to sponsor as many sports teams as possible. Our hope is that the importance of wearing custom mothguards will spread throughout the world.
When other coaches and parents notice the use of mouthguards, they’ll be inspired to provide the same safety to their own athletes. This is how the mouthguard movement begins.
When we sponsor a team, we’ll send a dentist to take impressions of each of the players’ mouths. These molds are then sent to a dental lab where the mouthguards are made to fit each specific person. This ensures that the athletes get the utmost comfort out of their mouthguard while also getting ultimate athletic performance and safety!
Even many professional athletes understand the importance of protecting your jaw and mouth during play. There are a number of pros including Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Lebron James—hugely successful, professional athletes—that know they are at a far greater risk of facial injury if they choose not to wear a mouthguard.
If professionals are doing it, why aren’t young athletes?
One of the reasons young athletes do not regularly wear mouthguards—especially good, custom ones—is price. Because dentists charge anywhere from $300-$400 for a custom mouthguard, families simply do not have the budget to account for it. In order to spend less money on a mouthguard, athletes often have to wear stock or boil and bite mouthguards which can be incredibly uncomfortable and bulky, making it difficult to breathe or communicate effectively with teammates.
The more sponsorships and donations our organization has to work with, the more athletes we can provide mouthguards for. All young athletes deserve to keep their mouth, teeth, and jaw safe AND comfortable during practices and games—without their parents having to spend hundreds of dollars.
